    similar spawn problem?

    hi all (qa wizards)
i am encountering a new problem with silk 5.0.1 whenever i spawn. silk does not seem to be able to find custom textfield correctly when you spawn across to another computer.
the textfield is okay when tested locally but when i spawned to another machine, it complaints the textfield cannot be found. i am guessing because our textfield is custom..
    anyway, anyone encountering similar problem?

Yes, if the TextField is custom, you need to setup the partner.ini to be the same on all the machines if you've done any class mapping or compiler constants etc...

    Re: similar spawn problem?

    AJ,
I still not getting my target machine to see my custom windows. I set Silk to use my include file under Runtime Options. My include file contains a list of Agent settings. Am I missing anything?

    Re: similar spawn problem?

Nope... Not the include files... The ini files.

These are for set for each system under the options. When you classmap custom objects, the class map appears in the partner.ini file.
Copy that file to the other systems

    Re: similar spawn problem?

    AJ
First of all, thanks for the continue help. I physically Class mapped the custom class and they are now showing up under [ClassMap] in partner.ini
    I.e.
    [ClassMap]
    Adv_TBTime_32=TextField
My question is does Silk Test Agent actually read off the partner.ini file when run in spawn?
I am running low on idea because ClassMap works under the old QAP.
    Thanks again.

    Re: similar spawn problem?

Now if you ask me if I've tried it, I would say no. But what I'm suggesting is to copy the same partner.ini to all the machines you spawn to. Place the file in the dir the Agent.exe is in.
