    nested frames and HTMLLinks

I am testing the Spectator Demo site (<http://jorje/spectator> ), use userid
qa01 and password qa01 or create a new user. once in the main window
The logon page is two framesets (Top, Bottom). After Logon, two more nest
frames appear left and right. The Right contains a one row, two column
table, the image is in the left cell. The Left contains again another table
with initially two rows, two or three columns.
Source for the left frame (index) is: http://..../navdefault.html ---- show two links Add tasks & Edit
Tasks http://...../navAddTasks.html ---- shows all of task we will have
the only one that is a real link is the Stock Watcher. http://....../navEditTasks.html ---- shows only one entry which is
    Stock Watcher.

I think the problem is Silk 2.1.4 can not handle nested frames. when viewing the
html alone it sees the link object fine, but when it is part of another some
frames it is listed as class HTMLText or HTMLHeading instead of HTMLLink.

    Can anyone help me,
    Thanks,
    WEB

P.S. It looks like nested tables as well as frames, could be another problem
    for Silk.

    Re: nested frames and HTMLLinks

The problem probably is not with the frames. If you are using IE 4.0 for the browser it is a bug in SILK 2.1.4 where if the servers are different for different frame the class mapping goes out the window.

The good news is, I have reported this bug to Segue several months ago and they were supposed to fix it in Silk 5.0. Also it doesn't happen in Netscape 4.0X versions. The bad news is, I had the chance to beta test Silk 5.0 for a bit and they hadn't fixed it the last time I saw a build (about 6 weeks ago).

Please let me know if this is the problem.

Sorry about not explaining fully. The URL at the start of my posting is behind our companies firewall.

Silk Release 5.0, correct all the problems I was having. So far so good :-)
