SilkTest Compatibility with Operating Systems and Scripts
I have a test suite that has been developed and tested using SilkTest 6.5 on a Windows2000 platform. I want to upgrade to SilkTest 7.1 and use the Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP platforms for development and testing. Prior to doing that, I want to know if there are any obvious incompatibility issues that i should be aware of. Will my scripts require modification to work on the new ST or OS's or should they continue to work OK?
Re: SilkTest Compatibility with Operating Systems and Scripts
I am not sure it will work on 2003, unless that is new with 7.1. With XP you can expect some anomalies but generally everything should be the same. The default XP 'view' vs. 'Classic view' can be a problem. If you use XP SP2, security improvements can make code written for ActX plugins require rewriting. I've never had any serious problems moving from one version to another of silktest besides re-installing agents, etc.
