    QAPartner in Windows98

Are there known problems to installing QA Partner under Windows 98? When I install under Windows 98, QA Partner crashes when I access ''Record Window Identifiers'' or ''Record Window Locations'' under the Record menu.

This happens with both QA Partner 3.5 and 4.0.

    Thanks!

I do not know of any problems such as you described, but we have QAP 4.6.2 installed on Window 98 and this doesn't happen. However, version 4.6.2 doesn't say that it supports Win98. What does Segue say about Win98 support? Did you ask them?

Windows 98 support is only available in SilkTest 5.0, as far as I know. Double check with Segue Support.

    Re: QAPartner in Windows98

I've been using 4.6.2 with 98 and have not experienced any issues with it. I believe that 98 was an attempt to change over to the WDM based API. Most of their apps still using the Win32 stuff they seemed to throw 98 out as an experiment. Windows 2000 is supposed to be %100 WDM based and I think that Segue will need to address this immediately following the release of 2000. (Note: Most of my QAP testing is Mid-Level)

Does anyone have any info on Segue products and Windows 2000?

    Hi,
I have a query regarding QAPartner.
What is QAPartner and can we use the functions of QaPartner
    in the SilkTest scripts?
If we can use the functions then Is anything extra needs to
be done before using those functions?

    Thanks in advance.

As far as I knw QAPartnar = SilkTest - GUI Testing functionality.
Hence you must be able to use QaPartner functions in SilkTest.
Though I haven't tested it myself.
    Hope it clarifies

    Thanks
    Avnish

Actually it's a tad more correct to say

QA Partner + Web Extensions = SilkTest

This is algabraically the same, but you'll note that the main binary for
    SilkTest is called partner.exe.
