Need help abstracting information from ListBox

I have recently started using QAPartner. Does anyone have experience abstracting information from a ListBox? I am attempting to get the information/entry and it only returns the index {#1}. Has anyone else run across this?

Re: Need help abstracting information from ListBox

We've seen this before. We had to have our developers get involved and as it turns out, the code was sending QAP a placeholder (or pointer) instead of the contents of that placeholder. They had to make a change in the product code in order for QAP to be able to see the contents.

    Good luck!

That problem exists also on NT's Services Listbox (Run the Services App in Control Panel). You need a workaround...
For Services, you can easily figure out how many lines are in the listbox, then one-by-one select each item and click on Startup (which bring a readable dialog) with the name of the service and all the other info in the previous listbox available.
So if you have such a workaround, look for it and use it.

The problem in these listboxes are that they have dynamic content. The item points to a pointer in memory which has the info about that selection.

Also try to copy the item to clipboard and fetch it from there (if it allows copy/paste)
