    Problem with identifiers

*** Error: Window '[HtmlHeading]#1' was not found

    Problem with identifiers.

While recording declarations, taginfo shows the index as "#1" while the window declarations are as follows:

    [+] window AppsBrowserChild Authentication
    [ ] tag "Authentication"
    [+] parent Notepad
    [+] HtmlImage HtmlImage1
    [ ] tag "#1"
    [+] HtmlHeading Authentication
    [+] multitag "Authentication"
    [ ] "#1"
    [+] HtmlImage HtmlImage2
    [ ] tag "#2"
    [+] HtmlText UserIdentification1
    [+] multitag "User Identification?"
    [ ] "#1"
    [+] HtmlTextField UserIdentification2
    [+] multitag "User Identification?"
    [ ] "#1"
    [+] HtmlText Password1
    [+] multitag "Password?"
    [ ] "#2"
    [+] HtmlTextField Password2
    [+] multitag "Password?"
    [ ] "#2"
    [+] HtmlPushButton LogOn
    [+] multitag "Log On"
    [ ] "#1"
    [+] HtmlPushButton Cancel
    [+] multitag "Cancel"
    [ ] "#2"
    [+] HtmlImage HtmlImage3
    [ ] tag "#3"
    [+] HtmlText IndicatesRequiredItemNote
[+] multitag "? indicates required item Note: please"
    [ ] "#3"

The plan, script and the frame files are given below. Now, the problem is that most of the times when the test case is executed the following error is returned while it works some times.

*** Error: Window '[HtmlHeading]#1' was not found

Could some one kindly throw some light as to what could be the possible problem here. Also, what is the importance of "#1". Is there a special meaning for this tag.

Iam using VO here and Silk 5.5.3.0

    TIA.
    Regards,

    Re: Problem with identifiers

From your example, the #1 refers to the Index tag from your multitags: possibly the Windows ID, Caption, etc. plus the Index.
We can explain more but, I think, if you can just spend a little time reading the Online Help topic about "tags", you'll learn even more.

    Re: Problem with identifiers

    Hi Gilbert,

Thanks for your reply. I did refer the "Help" for info on multi-tags. However, it did not explain my question related to why the testcases do not pass all the time when "#1" is used ?
