I try to get the version of a particular file in our software. How can I do that ? Is there an existing method for that ?
Thank you !
Accessing file versions is often proprietary to an implementation. Ask your developers if that information is inserted into individual files and how to get at it, if it is.
Windows supports file version information in the file's properties view.
From Silk's perspective you could easily correlate a file's date and time stamp values to known versions.
I use the FileVer.exe utility from the NT Resource Kit.
