I've an evaluation copy of Silk test 5.0.2 which I'm trying to learn. The problem is that it doesn't recognize HTML tables and other web object. Going through the previous posts I assume it is a limitation of Silk. Is there any way to get the value from a particular cell in table. Does the later versions support web applications ?. Right now I'm copying from clipboard after selecting and copying (CTRL C). The Application is a web site using ssl and should be tested on both IE 6 and netscape. The code generated is DialogBox("Nested Table - Microsoft Internet Explorer").CustomWin("[Shell DocObject View]#1|$0").CustomWin("[Internet Explorer_Server]#1|$0").TypeKeys ("<Ctrl-c>")
I added a new extention (C:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe) and an able to work with IE (and netscape). I tried with Rational Robot and was able to retieve the value from web page. Win Runner 6 also does not recognize HTML. I'm trying to get a later version. Till then I'm struck.
piracy.....that's how. there is no such thing as an evaluation of SilkTest 5.0.2 right now. That version is over 3 years old. The current version is 7.0. If you want an eval contact Segue or a reseller.
The version I use is more than 3 year old. That was just to get a hang of it. Any way I installed version 6.5 and got one week evaluation license from segue. After successfully installing Silkmeter, when I open silktest I get error
No license for SilkTest_gui 6.0
ErrorMessage: No policy available for this version of the product
Could any one tell what to do next. Hoping that this version solves my original problem.
