    Getting Registry Entries

Does anybody know of how to work with Windows NT/95 registry entries?
How would you use QAPartner to get/verify or maybe even set registry entries?
If QAPartner does not do it (which I don't know of a way), has anybody tried some 3rd party utils that track registry entries?
I just wish there were functions like iniFileGetValue function for the registry...

    Thanks.

    Re: Getting Registry Entries

SYS_GetRegistryValue(), SYS_SetRegistryValue() are documented in the online help.

You can get some additional information about some other registry functions, and how to work with them, from http://www.ultranet.com/~danil/Cluey/creg.html

A great resource to learn about the windows API is Daniel Appleman's _Visual Basic Programmer's Guide to the Win32 API_, which shows how to map all of the API into Visual Basic. The transformation from VB to 4Test is pretty straight forward.

    Re: Getting Registry Entries

One way to access the registry is to use Windows API calls through dll declarations in QAP. If the API calls do not provide the functionality that you need, then you can create your own dll wherein you can write your own C functions. See page 70 of the QAP 4Test language reference book on how to declare the dll functions.

    Hope this helps.
