Silk Test Multipul Browser on same/different Machines

    All,
I have requirement to test Silk Test as following:

    () 100% execution against Top 6 Browser/OS configurations
    (a) Netscape 7.X, Win 98, 2nd Edition
    (B) IE 5.0 SP2, Win 98
    (c) IE 6.0 SP1, Win NT 4.0 SP 6A
    (d) IE 6.0 SP1, Win XP Home
    (e) AOL
    (f) WebTV

    (2) Acceptance of remaining 4 Browsers/OS configurations “as is” one week prior to Final UAT
    (a) IE 5.0 SP2, Win NT
    (b) IE 6.0 SP1, Win 98, 2nd Edition
    (c) IE 6.0 SP1, Win 2000 SP3
    (d) NS, latest version for Mac OS X

I want to make sure before accepting or rejecting any combinations. Important issues are:

1, What is Cost and time.
2, do it have a lot of problems.(I am only one person for 3 month)
    3, What is complexity.
4, what I have to keep in my mind to setup machines.
5, What are important issues for installations.
6, what is base line in NE or IE. In perivous topics on same forum people suggest set a frame file in NE DOM and than run on IE.
7, I am doing Functional Testing, there is different team for Silk Performance. Is it come under me OR Performance issue. We don't have any silk Test but will get one may be 5.5 or 6.5.
    8,any other work around, thoughts??
    Thanks.

    5,

    Web TV won't work.
    No Support for MacOS

To begin off with...focus your automation on the browser that is in most of the categories (IE6). Then start porting tests from those to run on other platforms.

Re: Silk Test Multipul Browser on same/different Machines

    all,

Thanks Jamesso, I was browsing old silk topics. Some one suggesting we have to make base line in NE and than move to IE, It is NOT working on other side (like base line IE and than work for NE). Some comments are it is pain to do it. My question is I am only one person, and 2 month dead line. If I make it in my plan than I have to do it. Do I agree to do it OR explain them exceptions. If exceptions what should be my solid, prove able statements.
2nd question when I am starting what I have to keep in my mind during installations, and creating base lines. (Again same example If I start IE base line and after one week sweating to work with NE). Of course I read manual, User guide and silk forum , but is there any thing that any one can advised.
    Thanks
