    SilkTest - NYC Forums???

I'm new to the world of Silk and curious if there are any local Silk meetings to discuss current problems and limitations being addressed? I haven't been able to convert my window recording testcases to some of your coded sections but any help on how to develop my coding would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    SilkTest 5.0
Any reason to upgrade to 5.0.1 or .2 or should I stay with 5.0?

Yes there is one for NYC... Check for the meeting announcement in the User Groups forum.

As for upgrading... It is always good to upgrade if you want bugs fixed etc... I know you may have problems with some other inroduced bugs... But It's a genrally good idea. I recommend 5.02, and I'm anxiously awaiting 5.5

    Re: SilkTest - NYC Forums???

regarding the upgrade.. the current 5.0 silktest...running on NT 4.0 sp4

i'm mostly testing VB 5 apps and Java scripts through
    Netscape/Explorer..

i've been experiencing alot of problems with silk being such a resource
hog... and the agent crashes with a Dr. Watson error...

i've since been closing anything other then the app to be tested, and
silk, firstly starting the agent manually.

what are the benefits of 5.02... versus 5.0 whatabout some of the
problems people have experienced with the newest version converting
testcases from older versions... there are already thousands of
    scenarios in effect...

    thanks for all the help

    Re: SilkTest - NYC Forums???

I have to warn you... Although it may seem that Silk is the resource hog, it is really not. It may have really tiny mem leaks, but Netscape and IE are really the app at fault.
To demo this... After running 5-10 testcases, monitor your resources, then close the browser and wait 5-10 seconds to have them completely out of memory. Notice all your resources going back to normal!

It's a good practice to close and restart your browser every 10 testcases, Look for the latest download in Segue section (by John Green) there's a function called ResetBrowser (). Use it every 10 testcases or so, it really helps having your testplan execute all the way to the end.
