    Hi,

You might wanna take a look in the silk test help: Identifiers: Definition.

This will give you a good explanation of what and why we need identifiers.

    Regards
    Christian

    Hi Terry,

That's right, you need to refer to the help for a detailed explanation but just for a better understanding,

tag is used by Silk to identify an object at runtime- you can say they are the properties of the object through which we make Silk to uniquely identify an object.

identifer is the name of the object in a script.
we refer to an object using its identifier.
silk finds the object using the tag of the identifer.

I hope I am not confusing you.

    HTH,
    Harshil

Re: What is identifier, tag ??any difference??

To be real plain about it:

tag = what Silk sees and calls an object.

identifier = what YOU call an object.

Tags can be very cryptic, whereas Identifiers can be anything you want, so I may decide to call an object something like EmployerPortalReserveButton.

That's a very specific and easily understood name for an object.
