Extracting text from the cell of a custom table
I have a custom klg jclass table in my project. I have given up on all the methods for recognizing this custom table, since none produced any results. I am trying out the low-level approach. The cells in my custom table are uneditable. I am having difficulties in extarcting data from the cells. If the data was editable I could have selected the text copied to a clipboard and used it.
Re: Extracting text from the cell of a custom table
Try using captureclass.inc (Information in SilkTest help) or Record->Class with Show All Methods checked (Show All Classes may also be helpful). Hopefully, some of the methods will return text information or an object that contains it and supports getText. Then follow the instructions for adding the capability to make invokeMethods calls (again in SilkTest help). Usually the last of the methods will be toString or getText and you should hopefully get your information. Remember that the rows and columns in the table in Java are 0-based references and SilkTest uses 1-based references, so remember to subtract 1 or you will break on the last row or in the last column.
