I'm attending the Boston Area Segue User's Group meeting on November 5th, which just happens to be held at Segue headquarters in Lexington, MA. And the presentation topic this month just happens to be about SilkTest 6.5 and the added functionality for .Net support... I'll try to remember to let everyone know what I learn at the meeting.
If I forget, I'm sure Heidi Gilmore will at least get the word out when 6.5 is available.
Bad news for those of you needing .NET support: "SilkTest 6.5 also offers a separately priced add-on for testing .NET WinForms and WebForms applications; please contact your Segue sales representative for details."
Okay... I'm way disappointed with this news. This is the first I have heard that .Net would be an extra fee. We all pay a pretty stout premium for maintenance and it seems to me that this should be part of that. Our office doesn't even use Segue support because it sucks so bad (I'm sorry. I do try to be supportive and optimistic on Segue's behalf in that regard) so the only reason we keep paying the maintenance is for the upgrades and patches.
Does anyone know the price tag on this? We have a call in to sales but have not heard back yet. Pretty strange way to do business. They kept telling us that .Net would be supported in 6.5 but not once did they warn us that it would be an extra fee. They better issue a statement pretty soon explaining themselves.
