Can my silk test take care of loging in the system
I want to do something like this. I want to install my application on 4 Different machines using silk test agent in them. I am running silk test on 5th machine. As soon as i complete the installation the application will ask for reboot so i can reboot the machine. but after reboot i have login the machine manually and then cary on further testing of the application. But can i login my system using silk test. I have done some registry entry by which my agent becomes active as soon as i login but i don't know how to make my system to ligin automatically. I think this can be done by using windows option but untill i do this my silk test cannot run in my absence
Re: Can my silk test take care of loging in the system
It depends on your OS. Is this 9x? NT? 2000? XP?
Windows has the ability to "autologon" as pointed out by Chris, if that is a legitimate option for you.
If autologon is not an option for you, there have been discussions here (use the search) involving running the agent as an NT service to deal with the logon once NT restarts. With that, you can have your 5th machine "pinging" the rebooting machine, and once it finds the Silk Agent, it can procede with the login. It's a hack at best, but it does work and may meet your needs.
