using multiple frames in silktest
We are using Silk Test to test our application. We have multiple
frames to test our application.
- one is used for testing the installation and the other to test
the application as such.
They exist in different projects.
Now we want to combine both the projects into one.
We have a difficulty in handling the two frames. How to handle them.
Note: Main Windows used in both the frames are different.
Can you help us with this.
Thanks in Advance.
Re: using multiple frames in silktest
This question comes up fairly frequently and you can find a number of other related discussions by using the search facility.
The gist of the replies, if I recall correctly, are that it's awkward to maintain the frame approach with multiple simultaneous applications and that its easier to take over the start and recovery routines yourself to gain complete control over testing operations.
This may sound complex and messy but it isn't. Application startup goes into a Start() or Invoke() method within each declaration. So does login, if needed.
Closing left-open windows could be application-specific but is usually best handled within a parent class from which you derive your current set of applications. That way you can define a common policy that applies to all.
