Currently I am looking for a test management tool and not the one provided by Segue. Does someone have experience with SilkTest in combination with another test management tool then SilkPlan Pro? I have been aroused to the functioning between SilkTest and a test management tool of Mercury, Rational, Compuware et cetera. What are the experiences? Positive? Negative? Why?
SilkTest will work good with most test management tools out there given the fact that it has a good commandline interface and the results repository also aids in this endeavor. As to which one is better....that's almost a religious question.
Most of them are better than not using any at all, but the important thing is to find one that will be used and not circumvented.
Some tools enforce a set methodology on you that can take time to get used to or may not be flexible to your internal processes. First make a list of things that you want to accomplish with such a tool, and then get a POC from different vendors proving how YOUR process and goals can be achieved. Make your list first though.
