New to silktest and web testing
I am testing a web site and have the following questions-
When declaring windows which I have about 10. When I started to record I got all ready defined in line 666 of my inc file. Do I just change the identifier say screen to screen_1. That lets me record. Question screen is the title of the page, what is the mechanism for distinguishing that screen from the other 4 that caused the error. Do I have to change something else to record valid info??
In 5.3 is there an easy way to save the URL for later use in the script?
Re: New to silktest and web testing
There are three basic parts to a declaration.
There is the Type/Class of the window or object.
There is the Window Identifier
There is the Tag.
There cannot be duplicate Window Identifieers. This is the name YOU give to the window or object. If duplicates were allowed, and you made a call to that window or object, Silk would have no way of knowing which one you meant.
I strongly encourage you to not use generic names like Screen1 and Screen2. Those are meaningless. Instead use very specific names like LoginScreen and RegistrationDialogBox, etc.
As to the URL, set it as a variable:
string sURL = http://www.myurl.com
