    Java.exe error while accessing ComboBox

Testing Java 1.2.2 application on Windows NT4 Sevice pack 4 with Silktest 5.0.2.
There is one peculiar problem I saw. Whenever system tries to get the information of the combobox, it gives the Java.exe error, shutting down the application. Now, it is difficult to approach the support, for they will ask more questions and then will say, it is problem with application!!!;-)
    Has anybody seen this error?
    Please help.
    -Kishor.

Re: Java.exe error while accessing ComboBox

Any thoughts on JavaJFCCombobox giving java.exe error? It happens when accessing it, but seems to be working when choosing something out of it.
    Thanks in advance!

The java application shuts down due to java.exe error, and then dialog box, "Dr. Watson for Windows NT"..etc appears. Will the details in this message box help? If required I shall send them.
    Thanks,
    Kishor.

Re: Java.exe error while accessing ComboBox

I don't know what is happening in your specific case, but I was having a similiar problem with java.exe throwing dr. watsons. What I found was that there seemed to be a conflict with having JavaSoft installed. I'm assuming it was a conflict between Silk and JavaSoft.

Once I uninstalled JavaSoft, everything cleared up and I haven't had any problems since. We saw this issue on every test box here and this unistall fixed all of them. I haven't gone back to do any additional root cause analysis because I just haven't had the time. It worked so I moved on. Hope this helps.

One note. Uninstalling JavaSoft will remove your java libraries. I backed up the java library folder and after uninstalling JavaSoft I copied the libraries back to the original directory name.
