    Silk could not recognise

    Hi all,

Silktest is not recognising the parent window object when the modal child window object exists in the AUT. Is there any way u could do that?

    Mr.palani,

    Silktest Version : 6.0
    Application Type : Client/Server
    Language of AUT : Java

In case of non-modal windows, silk recognises the object. Anything else required?

    Re: Silk could not recognise

The problem is that the Modal window. It has control of the view. As you know, by definition the Modal Window is waiting for a required action before returning control to the main app. You will need to close the modal before you can regain control of the main app.
Unfortunately I am not aware of any way for Silk to get around this. However, if you are trying to get some data that is being sent, maybe you can intercept it at the communications level (SQL, DLL call, etc...).

    Re: Silk could not recognise

The difficulty here is that Silk will interact with an application just as a user will. A user cannot get beyond a modal dialog without performing some required action on that dialog. Therefore Silk cannot do so either.

There may be some things you can do to gather the required data and hold it as variable values before the dialog appears, but I don't know exactly what it is you need to accomplish.
