    Dropdown - doesn\'t work with onClick...

    I am using silk 6.sp1 win2k, IE5.5.

    We have a dropdown with onClick instead of onChange. Unfortunately this means key stroke won't activate the selection. Somehow Silk just select the item but nothing happens. This let me believe Silk uses key stroke to select the items. Please tell me that I am wrong or there is a work around it.

    That was an elegant solution. Thanks James.

    Re: Dropdown - doesn\'t work with onClick...

    I like this article, but I have a found a better work around for my situation.

    So I combined the normal Select() with a Click() sequence, everything work.

    Explaination:
    1)if submit event is triggered by onClick() that means only the mouse can trigger a sumbit.

    2)Silk opens the dropdown, then uses the up/down key to select the item. Maybe they should do a real select using the mouse. That's why sumbit won't be triggered.

    3)Now once we changed the selection of the dropdown, all we need is to click on the dropdown to activate the submit.

    code:

    Dropdown.Select(item)
    Dropdown.Click()

    I don't know why our dev coded the form like this, but if you see similar behaviour then this could work.
