    Re: Usage of Extension Kit

Here is what SilkTest's help says,
    <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">quote:</font><HR>
The Extension Kit is an API (Application Programming Interface) to SilkTest (or QA Partner for Unix). It's not an executable application Ė it's a header file which exposes the functionality of a library that already ships with SilkTest. It is one of the available alternatives for handling custom objects from within SilkTest.
The Extension Kit is simple to use and immensely powerful. It allows you to:

∑ access to some of the internal functionality of SilkTest and extend SilkTest's functionality in a way that can be virtually transparent to the scripter.

∑ pass information from SilkTest to your C code and back again.

∑ perform keyboard and mouse actions using the Agent's capabilities.
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

I have installed the extension kit but haven't used it yet. If you install extension kit (with SilkTest install) you will get a .pdf file which should explain all about it.

    Re: Usage of Extension Kit

Summary...If you have a C/C++ application and have custom objects that SilkTest can't work with out of the box, you can use the ExtensionKit to add code to your application under test to let SilkTest interact with your custom objects. What kind of object are you looking to support?
