Does SilkTest International provide full regression/ functional testing?

Our company is new to automation testing, and we are selecting a tool for functional/ regression and localization testing. We incline to SilkTest International. I want to ask a question: can we use SilkTest International for regression/ functional testing (does it have features of SilkTest) or we need to use two separate tools - one for regression tests, and other for localization?
If anyone has experience with these tools, please, advise us...
    Thanks in advance.

SilkTest and SilkTestI are basically the same except SilkTestI has unicode support. If you have a need to test on a multi-byte o/s, then go with SilkTestI. If you are testing on single-byte localized o/s's, then stick with SilkTest as it is much cheaper.

I would also like to add a couple points to keep in mind while creating your window definitions for an application you know is going to be localized.

    1) Use window ID's whenever possible, use index as a backup(except on dialogs and the mainwin or when it would make the object too generic)

    2) All objects that are not covered in item 1 define with the multitag statement.

    3) Try to use indexes whenever possible when selecting items from popuplists or radiolists.

    4) Try to think ahead. If you use hotkeys in any of your scripts or functions, add support for the hotkeys that will be used in other languages.

    5) If you do anything specific in english, try to design it so that it is easily added to for localized languages.
