.Net windows being recognized

SilkTest doesn't seem to be able to see minimized windows while running under .Net. Anyone experience this and know of a workaround?

General solution:

Try a SetActive() before the Restore().

Modal dialogs can block access - even when the app' is minimized.

SetActive doesn't work because it doesn't recognize that the window exists.

Re: .Net windows being recognized

SilkTest 6 doesn't seem to have much support for .NET/WinForms. What's alarming to me is that it doesn't look like Segue is addressing .NET seriously. The best I've been able to find is a vague reference to a "VB/OLE-like add-on at some point in the future." I love 4Test, but if they can't pull top-notch .NET support out of their hat soon, 4Test is history in my shop.

You may want to contact your rep to see about getting listed as a beta site for their .NET support that they're working on this year for when they start a beta test program.

Thanks James, that's a good idea. Oh, and for what it's worth, here's the response I got back from Segue on .NET support...

<sarcasm>
Hmmm... yeah, .NET has only been available for a few years now. I can see why they haven't got around to it yet.

Well to their credit, they have very slick support for load testing .NET. The .NET explorer add on that you can download from them is very nice. Helps with Unit testing a lot. Hang in there.

Ahhh... you're right, James. I suppose the best thing to do is give them time. We all know how hard it can be to react to the market while improving an existing product. It's not like they're not going to support .NET, right? I just hope it comes sooner rather than later.
