    Custom Summary Results

    Hi,

Does anybody know how to customize the Summary in the .res file?

I'd like to include the AUT build number as part of the summary.

I don't want to use the SilkTest repository.
I want to use the standard .res file.

    Thanks,

    Re: Custom Summary Results

You can put a print statement in a ScriptEnter function to print out any information like this. It doesn't edit the header, but the print statements will be put in the top of the res file before the testcases are executed.
You may want to do this in TestplanEnter instead if you are using test plans.

    Re: Custom Summary Results

I want to avoid "expaning" the results file every time I want to find out wich build my test used. Even if I put I override DefaultTestPlanEnter() I have to expand it.
I want something like the following : (maybe I am dreaming)

    [ ] Script smoke.t - Passed
    [ ] Machine: (local)
    [ ] Started: 12:05:23PM on 30-Jan-2003
    [ ] Elapsed: 0:00:35
    [ ] Passed: 1 test (100%)
    [ ] Failed: 0 tests (0%)
    [ ] Totals: 1 test, 0 errors, 0 warnings
[ ] This plan was run against "AUT" build 1.x

    Re: Custom Summary Results

Although one would think that it SHOULD work that way, when running from a plan the print statements in ScriptEnter and TestPlanEnter will print out underneath the first testcase description in the results file. I don't agree that it should, but it does.

I suggest that you log the issue with techsupport. I have, but that is just one voice.

Post it into Segue's Silktest support forum also. That way the rest of us can add a supportive "me too" comment.
