    How to test the following? (GUI related)

    Hi all,
    Please tell me about how to verify the following in SilkTest:
    1) Boundary Values of field (i.e Max or Min values it should hold)
    2)Relevent values in a field (i.e whether a numeric field is accepting numeric values and test field is accepting only text
    3)Tab Order on a Form

    Thanks

    Re: How to test the following? (GUI related)

    1)
    For max or min characters in a field:
    Len(MyTextfield.GetText())
    For max or min numeric values:
    Val(MyTextfield.GetText())

    2) Try something like this:
    isAlpha function only checks the first letter in a string. alphaOnly will return false if there are any numeric characters in 'line'

    3) Use TypeKeys function verifying the correct component has Focus (HasFocus )...?
    Something like that.

    Silktest help files are fairly decent so normally you can find your answers there.

    Re: How to test the following? (GUI related)

    Thanks very much, for the replies from both of you, especially to john for his outright support . I have recently started using (training) silktest and have completed the foundations. I have never been into programming and have just started 4test scripting.
    John your reply would really help me (as I would apply it, very soon) and would definitely serve as the building blocks in my SilkTest skills.

    Best Regards
