Interfacing SilkTest with Excel for results analysis
I have published an article on www.segue.com in the February customer newsletter.
The goal is to share with the SilkTest developers community some of the experience we have gain in interfacing SilkTest with Excel for comparison between actual and expected results.
The solution we have developed, is, instead of using ODBC driver to get or put data in worksheets, to handle Excel from SilkTest, as any other tested application, in order to paste actual results (extracted from the tested application) into worksheets, to run remotely a comparison macro, and to get the results of the macro to make the testcase log errors if necessary.
The name of the article is "SilkTest: The Data-Driven Testcases Approach"
Re: Interfacing SilkTest with Excel for results analysis
I've read your article and I'll try to build data-driven testcases for my web app.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks a lot it's awesome.
PS: Maybe other guys from this forum can experiment with this and give us their feedback.
