    Getting StatusBar text

    I have an application with a text box and a status bar:
    Caling App1.TheStatusBar.GetText () gets me the same thing as App1.Log.GetContents (), which is the text in the text field.

    I want to get the text on the status bar, in the second field. Anyone have any insights on how to do this?
    I've tried:
    GetEverything()
    enabling the extension for the app and recording class (no methods show up)
    this: http://www.qaforums.com/Forum1/HTML/000642.html , which doesn't work because GetItemProp() isn't defined.
    Class mapping to a StatusBar.

    I'm pretty sure it's an MFC application, if that helps.

    Re: Getting StatusBar text

    i am just curious have you tried doing a class mapping of that custom "statusbar" control.

    i've worked with an application that has a status bar and have no problem doing a StatusBar.DynamicText1.GetText()

    DynamicText represents the different parts of the Status Bar.

    Re: Getting StatusBar text

    I get "Window '[DynamicText]#1' was not found" if I call App1.TheStatusBar.DynamicText("#1").GetText ()
    I've tried using .DynamicText1 and .DynamicText("#2") as well, with similar results.
