    what\'s the best testing approach?

i have an application that has .NET forms. These forms are dynamic pages. The tags changes. I have attempted to capture the windows declaration for each form but was unsuccessful since the tags during capture and runtime are different.

What's the best approach in automating these kind of forms? I have thought about not doing windows declaration at all but I am anticipating a maintenance nightmare later on since some of the controls themselves are custom controls.

Does anybody have any experience working with dynamic forms? How did you get around this to work?

    Thanks!

Is there anything static in the forms i.e. Caption etc?

    try recordnoing class
and also try classmapping the custom controls.

can you paste how you decls look like?

In my last project, i had problem capturing Dynamic pages. The workaround i did was to record their 'WindowsID'. It was constant. Try if it helps!!

Re: what\'s the best testing approach?

    hi
use only 'prior text' tag and comment all other tag to make a Html Form dynamic.
windows id won't work bcaz id is assigned depending on the class instances.
if some more say, HtmlTextField is added then index id of the HtmlTextField (already captured) changes.
But prior text for a HtmlTextField related to say Password field takes the text as
^Password : from Static Text "Password".

let me know if this works...
