Has anyone seen the following message\"\'[DialogBox] File Download\' is not enabled\"

    Hi All,
I am a novice for SilkTest. I am using it to test some webpages in one of our projects. I have a scenario where I have to select some feilds from the webpage and according to dates and entries I get one excel sheet as the result. While running the script for the same I am getting the following message.
"[DialogBox] File Download' is not enabled"
I am getting this message when I am storing this file. I have to save this file with some default name and I think I will get the same message for "Save as" DialogBox also. Do I need to change some settings since its a window generated message and I am running my scripts on explorer? Any suggestions.??
    Thanks

    Mohit agrawal,

What exactly are the steps that you are taking to save the file, are you right clicking and selecting download or going from the menu ?
Also it would be nice to know step by step as to what you are doing and the results at each step.

Till then you could try setting the agent option OPT_VERIFY_ENABLED to False and see if it works.

For you to be able to interact with the windows (application I mean to say and not the OS ) they have to be enabled. Hence the above agent option is set to TRUE by default.

Re: Has anyone seen the following message\"\'[DialogBox] File Download\' is not enabled\"

    Hi,
I have this application in which an excel sheet is genrated as a result of a query. So as soon as I fire this query from the web page (say "Get Report"), I get this DialogBox "Download File". I have options of saving it to the disk or seeing the file from the server. I have to save this file on local disk and compare it with the standard result file. Once I click OK on the first diealogbox which is "Download file", I get another dialogbox "Save as". I am saving this with some name. But the problem comes at the time of running the script. When I run the script I get message '[DialogBox] File Download' is not enabled. I tried enabling all the dialogboxes manually by clicking alt+ctr and clicking the enable radio button in the dialogbox window in script. I again tried to run the script this time its giving message '[DialogBox] File Download' is not found. What could be the possible reason?

    Mohit,

Just happened to notice this, when your query is done you said you get a dialogbox Download File, but when you run it thru SilkTest the error says [DialogBox]File Download' is not found.

Is it a case of the tag. Please check the window tag (caption) in your declarations. Do a Record Actions to confirm the caption of the dialog.

Re: Has anyone seen the following message\"\'[DialogBox] File Download\' is not enabled\"

    Is this problem resolved.

    I have the same problem.

I am using the following software:
    Silk Test 5.5 Sp1
    IE 5.5 Sp2
    IE DOM

    These are the following steps,
    --
Click the button 'Scorecard' on the IE Browser.
The DialogBox 'File Download' shows up.
    --
SilkTest is not able to recognize the FileDownload dialogbox.

However the DefaultBase state will close the FileDownload dialogbox.

Here is the message I get.

    -----------------------------------------------

*** Error: Window '[DialogBox]File Download' was not found

-- Look at the silk message (Silk closes the box)---
    Closing DialogBox("File Download").DialogBox("File Download")

Try putting the declaration in your frame file and looking specifically for that dialog at the appropriate time.

Here is some multi-OS code to do something like what you are trying. This is designed to install an activeX control as a non-admin user. You might be able to find what you need in here.

    cmos - OS variable
shrtct2.vbs - shortcut creating script for asynchronously starting stuff

One of the more unusual aspects is the multi-object requirement I encountered to get the FileDownload to work. Look at how FileDownload2k has a 'dummy parent'. It wouldn't work for me without that.
