I Need Help Getting Property Statements to Work

    I've tried referencing SilkTest's online Help, notably these sections: <UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>property declaration<LI>winclass declaration[/list]

This doesn't appear to work...Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    ~ Fred

Please do not use words like "Help" in the subject field. Read the posting guidelines again.

As for property. You're not supposed to write code in a property like that. A property is something you define for a class which can include code, but I would not do it the same way you are... What you're doing is better done as a Method. Because you're actually attempting to return something. So read more about defining methods and don't worry about properties now... You won't need them this soon.

    Automation_guru, please read about using the UBB_Code tags like [ c o d e ]

    How does it not work...?
Your class looks good to me.
So you could use the Name property in the following way:

Tempus fugit, Carpe Diem, et al

Thank you for all your replies -- I guess I studied the forest so much I forgot the trees...

Because I try to search and read the online help before posting here, I followed it's information. Specifically, I tried using the SetProperty() and GetProperty() methods that are described therein.

    For example:~ Fred

I don't want to split hairs over topic naming, but I am confident that although the topic name contained the word 'Help' it remained very clear to anyone browsing the forum what the topic was for the thread. I thought this was the intent of the posting guidelines. Nevertheless, I'll make an honest attempt to exclude that dreaded word from future topic titles. <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">quote:</font><HR>As for property.
