ST 6.0 - Record multiple tags option

Hi there,

I'm just about to migrate my ST5.5 scripts to ST6.0 (testing a C/S app written in C++) and find that ST6 fails in recognizing several GUI objects while the same script (testing the same GUI of course) runs perfectly with ST5.5. During my research I came across the following small problem: Under ST6, the option "Record Multiple tags" in the "Record Window Declaration Options" dialog is permanently disabled, and up to now I didn't find a way to change this. Any hints?

Thanks a lot,
cb

It's not disabled... and it should work fine. If you are testing a web app, check that you have the same level of borderless table recognition in the DOM extension.

Also, in the Options/Agent, there is a Compatability Tab...under it is an option to add Window Tags to the record menu... you can use that to record new tags for objects that ST6 may see differently.
If it can walk on water, it's probably SilkTest.

I was soooo tempted to reply earlier this morning that that would be an enviable feature to have, but then the same thing happened to me this afternoon when I wanted to temporarily experiment with a multitag!

I've no idea how Silk got configured to disable multitag though I suspect it was the result of an inadvertent command key combination. However, I did figure out how to bring it back. Open Silktest\Partner.ini and add a semicolon (comment) to this line:

[Agent]
;OPT_MULTIPLE_TAGS=FALSE

Setting it to TRUE would probably also work.

smccabe - thanks for answering, but (a) it IS (or better: was, see below) disabled and (b) as I said, I'm testing a C/S app.

But hey - JOHN RULES! Thanks a lot for your reply! I just changed the .ini entry and find that

- "Record Multiple tags" in Options>Recorder
- "Record Multiple tags" in the Record Window Declarations Options

are enabled again. The entry is definitively not a part of the "original" partner.ini that comes with the installation so it would indeed be nice to know how it came to life.
