Java objects not recognised in standalone app

    Hi,

I'm new to Silk Test and I'm currently evaluating 6.0.
I've worked through the tutorial and got it working with the sample apps.
My problem is when I launch my AUT and try to record window declarations, none of the java objects are recognised. All that is seen is the JavaMainWin and DialogBox.
    The JRE is 1.4.0_01
It might be a setup probelem. The AUT installs a new JRE but I've copied the SilkTest_Java2.jar in there.
    Anyone got any ideas ?

    Regards
    Tim

    Timmc,

How is your Java app invoked? Assuming you have Java enabled in the extensions, the liklihood is that SilkTest is not seeing the Java2.jar. Verify that there is nothing in the way your application is called that will override the classpath or in any way push the Segue jar file out of your classpath. Once that jar file is in there, you should be fine.

To add to DJ's comments, if your application runs with a Task Manager Process name other than java.exe or javaw.exe you will need to add that name in to both extension enablers (and check the java box) before Silk will know how to communicate with the app.

Re: Java objects not recognised in standalone app

    thanks for your help lads,

the problem was I needed to enable extensions. This now allows me to see all objects, although most are CustomWin class. I'm not sure if this is going to cause problem or not. I don't seem to be able to record Drag and Drop at all and this will be vital as the app is mostly concerned with dragging and dropping icons from a toolbar and placing them in a workspace.

    regards
    Tim
