I have included SilkTest_Java2.jar file in the class path of .lax file and i added .lax file as new extension in the extension enabler, still it is not recognizing. Java application i am testing is developed with swings. I am using jdk1.3.1_02 version.

Please someone help me asap. It has become very ******

    It's an easy fix:

    1. Add admincon.exe to both extension enablers and check the java box. Restart Silk and your application.

    2. Remove the .lax file from the extension enablers -it won't do anything there.

    Hi,

I tried adding admincon.exe to both agent and local extensions list, still it is not recognizing any of the winodws in our application. It identifies only window name and no other controls identified.

What is it reconized as? MainWin or JavaMainWin?

If it's MainWin then your problem is with the extension enabler- ie., Silk doesnt know it's a java appliaction. If it's JavaMainWin then your problem is with the classpath your setting at runtime.

    Hi,

It recognizes all main windows and dialog boxes as a Dialogbox. Even my applications main window is recognized as Dialogbox.
What could be the problem? really i am struck.

    Thanks

They should be recognised as JavaDialogBox.
I take it you have placed the ST jar into the lib/ext of your runtime.
Do you have multiple runtimes on your systems, this can cause problems...?

Please post your modified *.lax file.

You may have an error there. I know for mine I have to change all the backslashes \ to double back slashes \\ for a windows path.

Re: Problem in recognizing java controls in Silk Test

I have only one runtime on my system and ST jar file is under C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_02\lib\ext folder.

Re: Problem in recognizing java controls in Silk Test

If you get a dos prompt when your app runs, it should tell you if the ST jar is being loaded or not.
If you don't get a dos prompt try the following:
When your app is running, try and delete (actually send to recycle bin) the ST jar file from your lib/ext directory. If you get a sharing violation etc. then the jar is being used. If you do not then it is not being loaded in the JVM.
If it is not being loaded try putting the ST jar in the lib/ext of the actual jdk, i.e.:
    jdk1.3.1_02/jre/lib/ext

    Do the same checks again.
At least this way you can check that the jar is being loaded.

Other than that I don't know...
