6.0 does not work with java 1.4.1 under windows 2000

"However, unfortunately 6.0 does not work with java 1.4.1 under windows 2000." - johntest

I have just upgraded to ST 6.0 b4 finding out about this 'minor' bug. I am also testing a java application using jdk 1.4.1 and windows 2000.

Do you know when this problem will be fixed and what did you use as your workaround?

    Thanks.

Hmmmmm. . . Maybe I posted this a bit pre-maturely. . . I guess I kind of panicked when I was trying to run my defaultbase state and nothing was working, then I saw the posting that ST 6.0 wasn't working with jdk 1.4.1 (which is what I am using). . . However, I think the posting was just old cuz everything seems to be working fine now after I increased my window time-out settings! I guess I will attribute this to Monday morning fogginess. . .

Also I tried to delete this posting but am not a moderator. . .

    That's interesting...
Do you lose 'injection' after touching menuitems...?

What do you mean by 'injection?'

Sorry, this is a term Segue use to mean recognition of windows. By loss of injection I simply mean that I can no longer recognise any objects within a window, so if I were to use the 'window declarations' dialog to record a window with a tabbedpane and some textfields in it, I would get something like 'window JavaMainWin blah' but absolutely no sub-content, nothing about the tabbed pane or textfields.
If we click on our 'Edit' menu and then move the cursor over one of the menuitems and then move the cursor to the window's title bar, we lose injection. That is, Silktest no longer recognises any of the sub-content.

No, I don't have any loss of 'injection.' When I select record/window declarations and then go to my java application, all text boxes, menus, menu items appear. . .

However, I did have loss of injection when I first upgraded to 6.0 and am trying to remember what I did to fix it. . . Did you re-set all your configurations/settings such as:
    - Options/Extensions/Java application checked
    - the SilkTest_Java2.jar file is in your jdk/ext folder
    - You added the classpath fix to your partner.ini file

Everything is working fine for me of course not without the occasional ST glitch. . .

Strange...? Segue have reproduced this problem and are currently dealing with it. It happens under 5.5 SP3 as well.
You have to follow the procedure of touching menuitems before recording your window, in order to get loss of injection.

Sounds like you guys are seeing the same problem I dealt with on 5.5.3 with JRE 1.4.0_01.

See this post for a workaround to this problem:

I went though the process with segue, we later had to edit the partner.ini file using Spy++
