    Did enable PowerBuilder extension? I am sure there is some help in Silk Test installation guide.

    If you have already done the above, did you try to record a class for the customwin control?

    Could you elaborate more on this?

    Re: How to get text from non editable powerbuilder custom objects

    I did enable powerbuilder the extension. The version of the pwrbldex.dll is 1.2. Is there a newer version of dll that works better with customwin?

    Here is the problem in detail:

    SilkTest doesn't seem to recognize the non editable text field on the screen that is designed using Powerbuilder. My goal is to get the date from the two fields and then compare the values.

    Here is the code for one of the field that I am trying to get but it does not get any text from the field.

    [ ] LIST OF String lstr={}
    [ ] LIST OF STRING s2
    s2=LoanAdministration.PBTabControl32_601.MasterInf ormation.PBTabControl32_601.PaymentAndBilling.Stat icText1.CustomWin("[PBEDIT60]02?01?2000").GetMultiText ()
    [ ] ListAppend(lstr,s2)

    Please help me in this regard. Thanks

    If you class map this custom control to Static Text/Text Field, you might be able to get the text. If this doesn't work, try the following...

    1.) Pick Record/Class... menu from Silk Test
    2.) Point to the custom control you are trying to get the text from (On the record class window select Show all methods and Show all classes checkboxes). Do a CTRL-ALT and paste it to editor. If you haven't got any methods/properties, try "3.)" below
    OR
    3.) Pick Record/Actions... menu from Silk Test. Point to the custom control you are trying to get text from, do a CTRL-ALT, wait for a minute to get the properties of the control, select all the properites and paste it to the editor.

    Check whether any of the properties/methods of this control can help you to get the text. Post these in case if you couldn't succeed.

    That solution probably won't work.
    If so try using type keys to select the text and putting on the clipboard.

    Re: How to get text from non editable powerbuilder custom objects

    I can use windows.TypeKeys("<Ctrl>C")
    to select the text but it does not return any values.

    Is there any way to copy selected text and paste it to another variable?

    Re: How to get text from non editable powerbuilder custom objects

    Set focus on you window and try
    YourWindow.Typekeys ("<Ctrl-c>")
    sText=Clipboard.GetText ()
