    HTML Objects in Containers

I am currently evaluating Silk Test as part of my push to purchase a test tool for my company.
All was going well until I tried to validate the properties of an object which is part of an HTML container.
Silk Test ( and Mercury's Winrunner ) tries to get all of the properties of the objects contained in the containers and consequently fails to validate it correctly.
The environment we develop in is a J2EE environment using a web browser front end.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Could you explain how is ST getting the properties and what type of error do you get when ST tries to validate it.

    Re: HTML Objects in Containers

I was using the alt / tab function initially to verify the objects and it was listing all of the objects in the container in the error report.
I then started using the record window declarations functions.
Occasionally it gets it correct, but appears to pick up the properties of the object two before in the container

    Re: HTML Objects in Containers

By Alt-Tab did you mean Ctrl-Alt keys to verify object properties?
If so When you use Ctrl-Alt keys it get the properties depending on the location of cursor. If you want to get the proprties of the whole page the cursor should be located somewhere on the window title bar of AUT. By the way it is not the ideal way of verifing objects.

What did you mean by 'pick up the properties of the object two before in the container'

If I were you I'd call segue support for step by step instruction on how to do what you are trying to do.
