    using SYS_SetEnv () funtion to set \'PATH\'

    I appended the path of an executable file to the string obtained from SYS_GetEnv("PATH",str) function.Using the SYS_SetEnv("PATH",str) function I set the 'PATH' env variable.
    Now going to command line I checked the 'PATH' but there was no change.
    But using SYS_GetEnv("PATH",str) again shows me the correct 'PATH'.
    The changes doesn't seem to have affected the system. Is the approach for setting env variable correct or is there any other way?

    Re: using SYS_SetEnv () funtion to set \'PATH\'

    The approach is correct - but it only has effect WITHIN the command shell that you're issuing the commands.

    That is, the current shell has an environment that is "its own".

    Starting a separate shell (running a command) or starting another process (program) from outside of Silk/the current shell will give you whatever environment exists based on autoexec.bat or your system properties.

    what brent said, and also: in SilkTest, you can get and set registry values. that's probably what you want to do -- SYS_SetRegistryValue.
