I need two MainWin but only one at a time (two_apps.inc )

    Hi,

My AUT is a Win32 app, but it includes the capability to look at reports using a Browser.

We used to have an option set for the win32 framework (AUTwin32.opt), and another one for the web (AUTweb.opt).

Now I want to use both frameworks at the same time using a new option set (AUTmulti.opt).

In the SilkTest help there is a sample called two_apps.inc and it is useful , unfortunately I DON'T want to invoke both apps every time I start a script/testcase.

    Does anybody have any ideas?

I am also reluctant to make any changes to "defaults.inc".

    Thanks,

    -maa

Run your tests from a suite and load the includes you need for each section on the fly within the T files.

That would work, but I am looking for a solution that will allow us to run testcases, script, and plan files.

    Thanks,

I don't use plan most of the time, but couldn't you call a suite (".s" file) from plan, or just put the use files statement in different ".t" files? As for the options set, as far as I know there isn't anything in the options set that can't be set on the fly.

Oh and as for invokeing both apps you could make a derived invoke for each app in their respective INC files. Then you could start your testcases from "appstate none" and invoke the app from within the testcase.

Why do you need one single option set? You could call each one when you need it from your plan file using
    optionset: XXX.opt
followed by the scripts you wish to run.
    I hope this helps.
