    Re: Extreme Beginner Question

I would stay away from MS Word as a beginner. The MS Word products do not play nice with SILK at all. Silk does not recognize hardly any objects.

    I would play with notepad.

Can you give us an example of the errors you are seeing?

    Extreme Beginner Question

I am testing an evaluation copy of silk. I am having problems writing scripts. I have attempted to use the record option. However, when I run the script the results
are alway failure. I am sure it is due to my limited knowledge of the product.

Does anyone have any sample simple scripts I can run? Maybe to create a text notepad doc or a script as follows:

    Dear,

    Sincerely,

I thought this might be a good way to better understand the base state and the
    scripting language.

    I appreciate your help.

Try this script, from a friend at Segue.

This will check the clipboard as strings for other strings you want to look check for.

    Good Luck,
    Bruce.

    Re: Extreme Beginner Question

Since this is an Extreme Beginner Question, my Extreme Beginner Answer would be:

    - First, go thru the manuals/docs or Online Help that came with your Evaluation Copy

    - Follow the Tutorials, if you can

    - Check out the example .inc and .t files in the \exercise and \examples folders

    - Use the Sample Applications that came with SilkTest (Text Editor and TestApp) for practice.
