based on browser version how to change the framework file

SilkTest Identifies the objects differently for different browser versions

the sample code shows for the version 5 and 5.5.

    for IE version 5.0

    WINDOW wCustomWins = ShellEmbedding1.ShellDocObjectView1.InternetExplor er_Server1.ShellEmbedding1.ShellDocObjectView1.Int ernetExplorer_Server1.AfxOleControl421.AfxWnd421.D ialogBoxName

    for IE version 5.5

    WINDOW wCustomWins = ShellEmbedding1.ShellDocObjectView1.InternetExplor er_Server1.AfxOleControl421.AfxWnd421.DialogBoxNam e

i used it as 2 separate .inc files(eg: IE5.inc and IE5.5.inc) and used it in framework file.

depending on the browser version i'm commenting the another inc file in the framework file manually before executing the testcase.
i.e. if browser version is IE 5.0
then commenting IE5.5.inc file in the framework file.

can anyone tell me, if any other methods are there,to solve this problem without manual setting.

    thanx

Re: based on browser version how to change the framework file

while thinking on using GetBrowserType, do u really need to test on two browsers if yes, use VO extension that works on both versions alike. If this is not the case, let me think.

After changing to VO u need to record window declarations again. Thats why its not working for you.
