ASP Timeouts and how to handle
In doing some automation of our Web application, we from time-to-time run into ASP timeouts. Is there any way in Silk to gracefully handle these. For example, somehow know that an ASP timeout has occurred and then redo last operations.
Re: ASP Timeouts and how to handle
1. Handling it from Application:
If u want to handle it from the application side(ie from asp), refer the attachment *.txt
Accordingly increase the timeout value of the SilkTest Agent too.
2. Handling only from SilkTest.
Record the Timeout Screen.
Add a while loop in the testscript.
If everyting goes fine, exit the loop.If not get into except.
Within the Exceptional Handling Statements of the Script, verify whether the page is Timeout Screen.
If yes, Record the timeout error and go back to the loop after calling the required app state.
Add Sleep Statement whereever required.I have never tried this condition before, but u can give a try.
All the Best
