    Multitag differs from first item

I have an include file where the applet that is defined can be instanciated in several ways to perform various tasks. This results in changing object parent child relationships for the same control.

Instead of creating several window captures I decided to use the Record window tags function and use a multitag with each tag being the different instance of the applet.

    Looks something like this.

When I compile this I get the compile error "Multitag differs from first item."

I am not sure what is wrong to correct it. Any ideas?

the definition of the JavaJFCStaticText is what is giving you the problems.

By having the / in there you are saying the Parent object if of class [com.ncs.scoring.viewer.CommissionerViewer] when it is really JavaDialogBox.

    Try this:

Re: Multitag differs from first item

Thanks. I will try that out in the morning and let you know. I was starting with the knowledge that we can do this sort of thing, but not how to do it.

So I really don't have to give the full path to the object just the class of the object and the tag.

Re: Multitag differs from first item

you can use multiple tags to define an object but they must be of the same class. Also, you dont want to specify the parent tag to the root level in this case.

    Ryan McCullough,

You are truly a gentleman and a scholar. Your suggestion worked like a charm. I am now armed with even more useful knowledge.

    Thanks again.
