App state the closes a desktop app

I have a desktop app that just won't quit if it crashes, unless you use Ctrl-Alt delete. Is there any one who has a simple function to kill running process that I can use in my app state or a bullet proof appstate.
    Appriciate help in advance

    MyApp.Exit ()

Exit is a method that works on the process level and not the GUI level.

    Whola!

A similar discussion has already been done, although I am not sure about bringing down a crashed app.
Anyway check out the links they may be of some help.

Re: App state the closes a desktop app

I'd be curious to find out the Exit() method would work for a crashed app' because of its (oddly documented) reliance on Close(). The latter has proven so unreliable with Java applications that I replaced it with my own containing a TypeKeys("Alt-F4") call.

Another approach to get rid of a fatally damaged AUT would be to write Task Manager code to terminate it.

IIRC, there's also a command line call that can be used to terminate an application but I can't locate a reference to it.

    Whola!

Hey I hit a search here the other day for bringing down a crashed application and there are a few posts already made that discuss this.
I'd recommend that you check them out first.

Let us know about the Exit method.
