Finding the height of the first row in a table.

I have an issue that I have not started working on yet but have been thinking about. I have a script that selects the first row in a table and returns the data in a list, but the only way I can do this is by clicking with coordinates on the row. I don't want to use coordinates because the header row of the table changes size sometimes which makes the selection of the first row not work. We were thinking about trying to find out the height of the header row in the table and then clicking below it. Does anyone have any idea on how I could go about this?

    Thanks.

    1. What kind of table? (If Java you can address the rows/columns directly.)

    2. Otherwise, you may be able to expose the exact property you need through the record/class dialog.

Re: Finding the height of the first row in a table.

If you can see objects in each row, you can get their RECT, then compare the yPos of each RECT to get the row height.

    Hope this helps.

John Miller's question is highly relevant. I do something like what John Green is describing with HTML Tables.

Let's say I want to click on the Provider ID in a specific row (iRow) in a table.

This table is not HTML or JAVA. The application is a client server Powerbuilder application. When I look at recording the window declaration Silktest sees the table as a CustomWin.

Try using the PowerBuilder extension. It exposes the data table objects to SilkTest. Check out PowerBuilder extension in the help file.....

I already have this extension added and enabled.

Re: Finding the height of the first row in a table.

I have decided not to try and find the height of the header row in my table. I can now find the number of rows in the table and set the current row to the first one. Then I want to double click on this row. Any ideas on how I can do this?
