What is SilkTest\'s equivalent of VB\'s CreateObject ?

What is SilkTest's equivalent of VB's CreateObject ?

I want to use some third-party DLLs. The VB samples for coding using these DLLs all show that the first thing to do is a CreateObject.

    = = VB example code = =
    Dim Session as Object
    ' Create a session
    Set Session = CreateObject ("CompanyName.Session")
    Session.Connect
    = = end VB sample code = =

So how would I "translate" this to 4Test code? I am familiar with the use of DLLs in 4Test, but none of the samples seem to cover this kind of thing.

    What to do?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the info.

However, I took your advice to heart. After spending the rest of the day on this, I solved the problem (close enough anyway).

Since VBScript supports "CreateObject", I built a simple VB app with the a text box that feeds a VBScript control, and a Run button to executes the script.

Then I wrote SilkTest code that reads the VBScript stuff from a text file, puts it into the text box, clicks the run button, and gets the result from the VBScript message box (MsgBox) that it in the script.

    Done!

    Thanks for the advice.

There isn't one. You'll need to write a DLL or a VB form that does this for you and then use SilkTest to call the DLL, or interact with the VB form.

You should post this solution to the forum....
