    Coding Challenge #6

    Coding Challenges Return !!!!

Write a function to return the number of spots.

The string inputs look like this:

    "img1.tif [512 spots]@100%"
    "bitmap1.bmp [792 spots]@50%"
    "myfile.jpg" [58 spots]%100%"

    Here's the function header

    INTEGER GetSpotCount (STRING s)

    2000 points to the winners.

Email your responses to jwgreen@automationexpertise.com. This way we can have multiple winners. Responses posted directly to the web site will not be given points. Winning responses will be posted here on Thursday August 1st.

    Re: Coding Challenge #6

Hmmm...depending on how one reads the spec:

Solution 1: Handling obvious input data corruption is required. (Please increase projected point count budget to cover the increased manpower costs of generating a solution to resolve this most-critical issue.)

Solution 2: Code completely unnecesary since all examples have only have 1 "spots" instance per line. (But be sure to send those points right away; I need 'em to start a "standard accounting practices" business.)

Solution 3: It's a one-line routine using nested wbm(), tvctus() and hfugjfme() calls.

Hey, are we playing for "Whose Line Is It Anyway" points?

    John

Oh, and be very careful with the hfugjfme() parameters or the tvctus() won't work.

    So.... Everyone won?

    That's cool.

Can the code be posted so we can learn from the examples?

If transferrable, I would like to donate the points I've won, from the previous Simple Question/Coding Challenge topics, to tonight's winner! Maybe he/she can find interesting things to do with these valuable points

    Re: Coding Challenge #6

Looking at the answers I realize it is simplier that what I was trying to do. I didn't well understand the question.
A question : from where does the input string come from ? I mean, can this string been generated by another useful function ?
