    Re: window decl. problem

Yes, you can put the data in a CVS file or Excel. I have done the CVS for a while, but that gets to be a pain. Using Excel works out nicely. You can have multiple sheets and multiple files (just be sure to create an DSN entry for each one).

You can access the data in Excel as if it where a database:

    Hope this helps

    Re: window decl. problem

I have even tried using Oracle Tables to Input Data and Access data files too. All work fine. Again the test steps are the way David has described. It works fine with just a text file as well if you don't have any serious field manipulations.

All you need in case of accessing a RDBMS table is additional handles to execute queries.

We had also, put Frame Identifier as one of the fields(First) and depending upon the frame identifier coupled with kind of test-indicator, it would access a different type of Executor - function and subsequent tests.

I would suggest you to try with a very small test case using one or two fields of data. Test it, and then expand upon the same.

    Re: window decl. problem

This is silktest's way of seperating menus from menuItems. Record menus declaration seperately. Else, create a child to the main windows to execute menus.

    Hey Group,

We have couple questions to ask .

    # 1) The frames, which were recorded in IE 5.0, are not recognized
when they areexecuted against IE 5.5.
    # 2)It is also not possible for Silk 5.0.3 to record the frames
    within the browser child.

When we browsed through the various QA forums we happened to get the
view that these issues could not be solved in Silk 5.0.3 and the
fixes for these are available only in Silk 5.5.Is there any way it
can be solved in 5.0.3 itself? Can any one help us to get rid of the
    problems like this?Suggestions are welcome.

Silk 5.5 added support for newer browsers. I dont think regular 5.5 even
supports ie6. There might be ways to make 5.0.3 work with ie5.5 but it
would be more trouble than its worth.

Re: using IE5.5 or higher, it gave problems and I didn't know what to do either.
But, can U be specific about inability to record frames in browserchild for version 5.0.3? Do U have an embeded software inside the browser(like a thin client?).. We had the plugins architecture and had the frames easily recorded...
