Just curious - what flavor of Windows made you reboot? I am on Win2000 Pro and was able to kill the offending process in Task Manager...

    Another Keyboard Trick

    Launch Explorer - "Windows Key-E"

    Select a folder.

Press "*" on the numeric keypad.

    All sub-folders will expand.

    Re: Another Keyboard Trick

Then you are screwd with everything expanded. Where is the key to collapse everything? "-" will not do.

    Re: Another Keyboard Trick

Don't necessarily do this with "My Computer" selected. Choose a folder whose sub-folders you want to see.

Well, read your first post. I just did what you said. It's kind of funny because I am making my co-worker experiencing the same thing as I did, and getting a good laugh at it Haha

    Re: Another Keyboard Trick

Pressing "Windows Key" and "-" at the same time works in Windows XP. It collapses the tree.

    Re: Another Keyboard Trick

Do you really need to press Windows key with "-" key to collapse the selected tree node?

Just press "-" key on numeric pad to collapse the selected tree node.

This could also be done by simply pressing -> to expand and <- collapse.
