Re: Popup lists not recognised if they are the first control on a page

Try clicking on the popup list first before the select. If that doesn't work, try to do a wPopup.SetFocus ().

Paste the identifier you are using for the link. The SilkTest library aeweb3.inc includes a function LinkPathClick (sPath) which allows you to click a link based on a partial link url (rather than its caption) This file can be downloaded at automationexpertise.com. This function is also useful when you have multiple links with the same caption e.g. "Details"

    Hope this helps.

Re: Popup lists not recognised if they are the first control on a page

Hotfix 3 fixed the HtmlPopuplist(keeps crashing). The subsequent fixed broke it again. It has to do with IE's patches. IE5.5 sp2 with no extra patch works with HF3 without problem. Anything else is due to a combination of hot fixes and IE patches.

Can't blame on Segue, because they don't certify browsers. They just tell you that it will run on IE, but no intensive testing on IE(and patches) are done if any.

    1. I would have used index to select HtmlPopupList contents. Use GetContents() to get contents and find the index of the value that you are looking for.
Then, use do..except with shutting off "control not responding" to select the index.

(Note. Try to avoid using index to define HtmlPopupList).

    2. Use unique with wild-card "*" to make your link shorter.

I am not sure if Shivrams Ur problem is solved but here something that I got after searching the Segue Site and this works fine for me

    [-] SelectPopLstItem(WINDOW sPopLstWnd, STRING sItem)
    [ ] integer iIndex = 0
    [ ]
    [ ] sPopLstWnd.Click(1,5,5)
    [ ] iIndex = sPopLstWnd.FindItem(sItem)
    [ ] sPopLstWnd.TypeKeys("<PgUp>")
    [ ] sPopLstWnd.TypeKeys("<down {iIndex-1}>")
    [ ] sPopLstWnd.TypeKeys("<Tab>")
